Got a great deal on this hotel, and really couldn't have asked for a better location...a block off MIchigan Avenue. The hotel is clean, and the staff very friendly...seemed more heavily staffed than a typical Courtyard would be, probably due to location. As such, we got a bit more friendly attention, smiles and thank you's than I would expect.
The room was standard fare, nothing good or bad to speak of..which is fine here in Chicago where you likely won't spend much time in the room.

It might be because of the water and after I showered, but the room had a really musty smell throughout our stay. Considering this is a Marriott, I expected the rooms to be fresh. It's in a great location, easy to many places in downtown Chicago. It looks great on the outside as well.

Marriott consistently delivers on all the basics; rooms are nearly always clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. What makes this particular property stand out is the helpfulness and friendliness of their entire staff. From the minute we arrived (and I had three teenagers in tow) we were greeted warmly and offered information about what to do in the area. The concierge, the front desk staff and even the doorman were all WAY above average and catered to my family rather than ignoring teenagers. It was a wonderfu experience.
The location of this hotel is perfect for business or leisure with restaurants, shopping and theaters all within easy walking distance.

My family and I just returned from a 3 day stay at the Courtyard. We were extremely satisfied. We stayed in a large 2 Queen room which contained a sofabed and chair. The extra room was nice for a family of 4 to spread out - especially with 2 teenage boys. Room on the 20th floor - so tended to be very quiet.

The pool is very small. My sons did not use as it was too crowded.

The free internet was appreciated in the room. The hotel is in the midst of converting to wireless in the rooms, so the connection was wired, but not really any type of problem. The free internet access enabled us to continually look-up things we wanted to do/see in Chicago.

Starbucks in the lobby was a nice perk. Did not try the restaurant in the hotel (Viand). Did try the West Egg Cafe down the street for breakfast - this is a nice stop for a very filling breakfast - the type that enables you to skip lunch.

Great location - right next to Michigan Ave and all kinds of shopping. One of our favorite stops (with those 2 teenage boys) was ESPNzone. A little pricey for gaming and food, but a nice relaxing break for those tired from sightseeing.

Parking at the hotel was fine - $28 for self park is CHEAP in this neck of the woods. Easy in and easy pay.

Lobby help and concierge were extremely helpful with answering all questions, getting cabs, etc.

Would definitely stay here again.
