We arrived very early in the am (7:30) and the staff did not hesitate to check us in. they were up front that the room did not match our request but we could move to another the next day if we wished. We took the room and it was very clean and quiet. I can't say enough good things about the staff. Friendly, courteous and they truly seemed to be interested in making our stay a better one than the "guys down the road". My only suggestion is that staff is better trained on simple directions to public transit. I was looking for the Brown Line and they told me it was about 6 blocks to Clark (which is close) then take a left and it is about 2 blocks away. This was wrong, it was about another 6 blocks. It doesn't seem like a big deal except when you are walking and start to wonder if they meant for us to take a right instead of a left. My only suggestion for the room would be to dramatically improve the lighting in the shower and sink areas. It was like taking a shower in a cave. Some of the other rooms suggested that the rooms needed to be updated. Ours looked updated. Yeah it didn't have a flat screen TV but I'm on vacation not there to watch TV. We booked for $129 a night for a Saturday and Sunday night stay directly through the hotel website. There are many many eating options within a 4 block radius. We ate breakfast at a small diner named Mary's that was on Ohio (go to Ohio take a left towards the Lake and it is on the right side about 1 block down) It was very simple and nothing fancy but it seems hard to find a place that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for a full breakfast in this area. Speaking of the area; the hotel is 1 block from Michigan and is extremely well located. Parking is $28 per night for self park and is very convenient.
