We ate here for dinner recently. We could not get up to the restaurant with our stroller. The elevator does not stop on their floor and there is no signage telling you how to get up there when you have a stroller or a wheelchair. We ended up using the escalator hauling the stroller up it. Not a good thing. We did remove the baby of course and carry him. This says they don't want small children up there. The food was good with a nice amount of spice. The server was very helpful, too. We won't go back though as it was a struggle to get up to it. I don't know how they can get by without being handicap accesible. They may be but there is no sign telling how. Maybe you have to live in Chicago to know the secret.

My husband and I recently dined at Heaven on Seven. Although we both live in MI, we were born and raised in the South. So, we went to Heaven on Seven for a taste of home. We had reservations for a Friday night and were promptly seated despite the fact that the restaurant was busy. The fried green tomatoes and gumbo were great. My huband loved his entree, but I thought mine was just so-so. I was really looking forward to eating some collard greens, but they were not what I was expecting. The chef definitely took some liberties with this southern classic. Although the food received mixed reviews from my husband and I, the wait staff and ambiance were nice. The waiter was a New Orleans native who had relocated following Katrina. When he found out we were originally from the South, he was quite chatty and even left our drinks off the check!!

This was one of the best restaurant I have tried. We chose the "Feed me Jimmy" option, and it was a 7 course meal so you got to try a little of everything. This was the BEST ever! From the turtle soup and gumbo to the largest dessert you have ever seen, this was it! The best best best!!! Our waitress, Denise, was awesome!! There were 6 of us and the reviews were unanimous! GO EAT HERE!!

My boyfriend and I ate at Heaven on Seven just off of Michigan Ave. when we visited Chicago in August. We had read about the restaurant and a family member recommended it, so we had high hopes. It was a bit difficult to find, because the address they give you is 600 N. Michigan Ave., but it is actually on Rush Street. Walk down Michigan Ave. and when you get to #600 (its a big store of some sort), walk west on Ohio St. I believe we had to turn left onto Rush St. before we ran into the door. It is the same entrance as for the movie theater and you go up an escalator. Ok, so once we found it, we thought the atmosphere was really fun with an entire wall covered in hot sauce and an assortment of sauces on each table. We both loved the famous gumbo, but our entrees were average. Service was ok. If you like spicy food, I recommend trying it once. I might go back, but there are so many good restaurants in Chicago, I don't think it will be a priority. Good luck and have fun in Chicago!
