A great place to go for reliable (though not overly spectacular) food, anytime of the day (breakfast-lunch-dinner) and also it is a great place for late night dining. I believe they are now open 24 hours from Thursday night to Sunday night. Great place to stop by on the way home or back to the hotel, from the bars and clubs.
Food is all around reliable and well prepared. It is basic, tasty, and presented attractively. Service is almost always good - in fact I can recall only a couple of occasions when a waiter or waitress had some attitude or just messed up. Attractive, airy dining room; it can be very crowded for brunch on Sat/Sun and during the dinner rush. But I've never waited more than 5-8 minutes to be seated even under the busiest of conditions.
The view from the window seats is excellent - a cross population of locals and tourists passing by the big bay windows. If that doesn't satisfy you while you wait on the food, the handsome busboys will - some very cute guys work here! And one thing I've noticed over the years is that many of the staff stay here. One waiter in particular has been there about 10 years and a couple of the busboys have been there just as long.
One caveat about dining at Nookie's Tree: no credit cards. But if you forget, there's an ATM right inside the doorway.
