I went here with three business colleagues on a Tuesday night and sat outside. It was a nice location at the intersection of three busy and pretty streets. The service was very good, food was delicious, and I enjoyed their wine selection. The portions were generous and we ate everything. We got there around 5:00 and did not have to wait for a table. You are asked to eat dinner if you sit outside. Afterwards, we walked over to the waterfront and then along Michigan Avenue. A great evening!

Gibsons was a wonderful experience. Sure it is crammed but we feel it adds to the atmosphere. The Steaks were HUGE and we split a double baked potato which was excellent. This steakhouse is booked solid almost every night of the week, and it is easy to see why. Excellent service, cool ambiance and wonderful food!

My boyfriend and I went to chicago for the atmosphere and the great food. One of the places that we went to in the heart of all the nightlife was Gibson's steakhouse. Perfect service is all I can say. Where as other servers and hostesses, bartenders, and even busboys dont really know or care much abotu their jobs. Mostly just using it as a means to an end, these people were wholeheartedly commited to making your experience fantastic. I recommend reservations early if going on a weekend. and sit inside. you have the option of sitting outside but you truly don't get the whole idea of the place if you do. Go early and enjoy the piano in the bar. a man singing and playing fantasic classic songs a nice place recommended for businessman and ladies. i would say 24 and up. The bartender makes a damn good gibson martini (warning the drinks are very pricy) The hostess comes and finds you takes the ladies drink and you follow them to your table. I recommend not getting a booth. Don't complain that your tables are too close together. It is an enjoyable experience to sit near someone in this atmosphere cause you can listen and giggle or make friends. I must say to every table there are at least 2-3 waiters that come up to you. you have your drink/water man. your clean your table man/ your bring out your food man/ then you have your knowledge taking order man... This person will show you steaks rare and explain what you should order and how. The portions are huge by the way so dont over order or you will spend a ton of money and not be able to enjoy it all. Just sit back and listen to what they suggest. because they do know what they are tlakign about. please do not order ketchep with your steak. Try the filet mignon. I know alot f people say... oh that's alwaaayyy goos whereever you go... I for one do not order many steaks out for the reason. I figured what the heck. it is a steak place! It was amazing. melted in my mouth.. no literally. The salad witht he homemade blue cheese is awesome. Twice baked potato is huge. The desserts and enourmous as well. I recommend eating here in chicago. More bang for your buck and very very satisfying. Amazing.
