I went to this restaurant with friends who said go here we love the place. Well I did too..I had the best little steak slider burgers and fries and my husband had the french dip sandwich and lobster dip appetizer. We thought the food was great and the atmosphere too. Our wait staff was excellent. This may be a place that is a little prcier than most but you get what you pay for- especially downtown Chicago. The dessert is HUGE! I mean a piece of cake for 13.50 is not a piece its a whole cake I think- you need to share it with 4 people. It was very good though! I suggest trying this place if you can fit it in your budget. They have a website with the menu and prices you can check out as well and you should make reservations- even for lunch.

Went to this place after seeing good reviews on here, not disapointed one bit excellent food and service also has lively bar and is in a good part of town for going out after.

If you are planning a trip to Chicago, I would highly recommend Gibson's Steakhouse. The food was outstanding!! The service was even better. The atmosphere of the restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. It was crowded and loud, but very hip and trendy. It is in the middle of a great neighborhood and is walking distance from the Hancock building for a before or after dinner cocktail. Warning: The dessert was enough for a 4 or 5 people. We order the apple strudel. It was great but too much for us to eat. If we had an extra night in Chicago, we would have tried to eat there again.

We went to this restaurant for lunch and loved it so much we went back that same night for dinner. At lunch I highly recommend getting the beef filet sliders - you get 3 little sandwiches with filets on them. They are fantastic, top-quality beef just like you would get at dinner, but only $12. At dinner, three of us shared the 40 oz lobster which you have to see to believe. Also, a single portion of their desserts serve 10 people - we had the Chocolate Mousse Pie and it was phenomenal and I truly believe it could serve, if not 10, at least 6 people. At $10, that's a bargain. The pie was awesome, if nothing else just go by and get one to go. This is also a prime spot to see celebrities if you're into that. The walls are lined with photos of celebrities who have dined at Gibson's. Jesse Jackson was having dinner there when we were there - the people at the table next to us got up to go take a picture with him. The waiters are fantastic and there is a sidewalk seating area if you want a more casual atmosphere. If you're only going to go to one steakhouse in Chicago - go to this one. And if you're on a budget - go at lunch.
