I read all of Tripadvisor's reviews and still wasn't prepared for how noisy this place is. Think bar crowd. We were 5 adults - ages 30-60. Service was excellent. Steaks were very disappointing. Big, juicy and tasteless. The 'sides' are where it's at - all delicious and hugely portioned. The desserts are the same - literally the size of whole cakes - delicious and a fun way to end the evening. Fun, but maybe just once (for tourists such as us!)

I went to this restaurant with friends who said go here we love the place. Well I did too..I had the best little steak slider burgers and fries and my husband had the french dip sandwich and lobster dip appetizer. We thought the food was great and the atmosphere too. Our wait staff was excellent. This may be a place that is a little prcier than most but you get what you pay for- especially downtown Chicago. The dessert is HUGE! I mean a piece of cake for 13.50 is not a piece its a whole cake I think- you need to share it with 4 people. It was very good though! I suggest trying this place if you can fit it in your budget. They have a website with the menu and prices you can check out as well and you should make reservations- even for lunch.

Went to this place after seeing good reviews on here, not disapointed one bit excellent food and service also has lively bar and is in a good part of town for going out after.

If you are planning a trip to Chicago, I would highly recommend Gibson's Steakhouse. The food was outstanding!! The service was even better. The atmosphere of the restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. It was crowded and loud, but very hip and trendy. It is in the middle of a great neighborhood and is walking distance from the Hancock building for a before or after dinner cocktail. Warning: The dessert was enough for a 4 or 5 people. We order the apple strudel. It was great but too much for us to eat. If we had an extra night in Chicago, we would have tried to eat there again.
