We saw Wicked while we were in Chicago and it was by far one of the best musicals we've seen!! So well done! I rave about it whenever I get the chance! The theatre is old and therefore small and that makes the seats kinda cramped but really, you come to expect those things if you go to enough shows so it's no big deal! The theatre is beautiful and it's location is perfect for tourists who typically stay along Michigan Ave. We stayed on the cheaper end of Michigan Ave so we were even closer to the theatre! Go see Wicked! You won't regret it!

Absolutely beautiful theater! There is so much to look at, the ornateness is unbelievable. I have to say the performance of Wicked we saw there was outstanding, probably the highlight of our trip. What a great show! Amazing acting and voices! It kept everyones attention from my 10 year old, to grandparents, to even my husband who isn't the "play type' of guy. He loved it. We all did! I only have a couple complaints. There is no leg room. My husband is 6'3" and thank goodness one of our seats was an aisle seat so he could somewhat put his legs to the side, otherwise his legs would have been to his chin. The other thing being, the intermission. They give you 15 minutes and that's it and if you're not back in your seat you won't be readmitted for 10 minutes. We sat in the loge and they said to use the restrooms in the basement because there are more of them. The line was ridiculous. We ended up not waiting because we only had a minute left, so we literally had to run back several flights of stairs in skirts and heels. This is truly not right. I've been to other performances in other cities and have never had this happen. It's a shame we didn't even get to use the facilities. I actually had to ask my 10 yr. old how bad she had to go. My 71 year old mom stayed in her seat---she obviously would have never made it. There were many complaints with the women around our seating area. The lady behind me was close to hyperventilating. The only way I can think to solve this is to either have a longer intermission time to accomodate more people or have more restrooms. This part was frustrating. The performance was great.

Ok, so I've never been to a really fancy theater or anything before. I walk in and I was amazed. This theater is so beautiful and the architecture is fantastic! And the actual theater part is amazing! When you look up you can just see all the beauty and detail put into this theater. It was awesome.

I saw "Wicked" at this theater. It was AMAZING! The actors/actresses were fantastic and it was very enjoyable.

The only thing was there was ZERO leg room between my seat and the seat in front of me. That was the only uncomfortable thing about this theater.

My daughter and I saw "Wicked" on March 26th during the Matinee. Our 4th row from the stage center seats (Row D - 103 and 104) were superb and this is where I would prefer to sit for ALL performances at this wonderful theatre. I had read some reviews online that stated the seats were cramped. I don't understand what people were referring to as my daughter and I found the seats to be very comfortable and we had more than ample leg room. Our view was excellent - couldn't have asked for better and we were awestruck by the grand beauty of this old, historic theater. Loved everything about the performance and the location, with the exception of the one, grouchy, elderly usher who basically pushed my daughter back into the theater when she was attempting to purchase a shirt during a delay. A little kindness and courtesy on the part of the users is not too much to ask. The younger ushers who directed us to our seats were fine.

We just drove up last night to see Wicked at the Oriental Ford Theater. Despite freezing rain, the trip in wasn't too bad. In Chicago we took Lake Shore Drive to Monroe, wove over to Michigan Ave. and took a left on Randolph, and we were there. We parked in a parking garage about a half a block east of the theater. Parking for the night with my validated ticket cost us $17.20.
The theater was buzzing with anticipation, literally, as we got there. We got there in time to go downstairs to use the restrooms which were clean. Then, up to aisle four and down to our seats. We were a little too close to the speakers, but that would only apply to about 2% of the seats in the whole theater.
The theater is rather nice inside.. ornate. The big dragon's head (part of Wicked) and map of Oz outlined the stage.
The play itself was great, but I'm here to review the theater itself. Getting out was much quicker than I'd expected. We had to funnel through the lobby for about 5 minutes, but using a credit card, we were out of the parking garage in just minutes, and the traffic at 10:30 on a Thursday night was a piece of cake.
I went to treat my wife, but enjoyed the experience quite thorougly myself.
