We found China Doll on VRBO.com. Our daughter lives in Chicago and we stay at China Doll whenever we come to visit. We have stayed in both the 1-bedroom and the two bedroom (when our son came with us). Why anyone would stay in a hotel when they can stay here is beyond me. You have a luxurious bedroom, large bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen (with all kinds of food for breakfast plus spices, olive oil, etc if you want to cook), a large dining room, a great location (convenient to bus and L), plus a great neighborhood. We walked to Lincoln Park several times, took the L to Wrigley Field, took the L downtown, and ate in several excellent restaurants within 1 or two blocks. In addition, Jim and Yanan are perfect hosts. They respond quickly to every request, but are invisible (except for the wonderful way they've put these apartments together). Free internet/printer/scanner plus unlimited long distances are convenient. They are usually less expensive than a hotel and give you so much more. We'll be there the next time we visit Chicago

We stayed for a week during April in Chicago and enjoyed the good location with nice restaurants and bars and the friendly house owner Jim.
We can recommend his apartments at any time.

Our family of 4 stayed here recently for close to a week and found the experience great! The apartment was roomy, comfortable, well-appointed (the kitchen is fantastic), and really felt like home. In fact it was hard to drag ourselves out of the apartment each morning and we really looked forward to coming back there each night after our sightseeing. The location in Lincoln Park was so convenient, close to many good restaurants and within walking distance of the El. It's a great way to experience the city. We love Chicago and intend to return for our 3rd visit in the future and will certainly book here again.

Dear Jim and Yanan Haring,

We have been enjoying our stay very much at your China Doll III (Garden Unit). We salute your elegant taste of interior decoration. The cozy atmosphere has created a warm ‘home away from home’ in this cold winter in Chicago. The spacious kitchen, the fireplace and the Jacuzzi are our favorites.

Many thanks for your prompt response and detailed attention to all our requests and queries. Your high service standards and professionalism are second to none. We would really like to revisit China Doll in our next stay in Chicago.

Absolutely worth every penny. We had four children and two dogs in the middle of a Chicago winter and it was wonderful to return home to two fireplaces and a steam room after a run. Great location, minutes away from the lake and downtown. Safe neighborhood and wonderful hosts! Best vacation ever.
