Just spend 4 nights at this new property. This was the nicest Marriott Residence Inn I have ever stayed in. Additionally, the staff here was great. Every person from the front desk to valet were so polite and so attentive. The building is in downtown and about 3 blocks from Michigan Avenue. It's very easy to get too and valet is right up front. My car was always taken care of and when I called in advance for it, it was there before me each and every time! The lobby level is 2 floors up and you won't believe you're in a Residence Inn. The hotel is one half Residence Inn and one half Towne Place Suites. The Residence Inn rooms are much nicer. Everywhere you look, you'll notice the details. Unlike other Residence Inn's, this place looks like a regular upscale Marriott/Renaissance Hotel. I had a studio which was very nice. Great view from the 23rd floor. The kitchen was nice with granite countertops and stainless appliances. The furntiure was modern and comfortable. The bed was great. The LCD TV was in HD. The bathroom was even nice. As opposed to those useless bath tub's, they actually installed walk-in showers that were a good size and looked upscale. Granted, I don't cook when I'm traveling, the kitchen (primarily full size fridge) was great to have. Breakfast was standard Residence Inn, eggs, sausage and waffles. However, it was always filled and they weren't taking it down at 10 minutes before 9:00 AM. Each and every staff member was extremely courteous and made the stay great. On the 27th floor they have a great gym with all new cardio equipment with TV's attached, some weights, a smallish size heated pool and spa. They also have laundry facilities up there. Overall, I would choose to stay here over the Marriott on Michigan Avenue, the Renaissance on Wacker and two Courtyards Downtown. This place was great!
