I stayed at the hotel on May 13th, and had a great experience. I flew into Midway and took the train to the Loop. From there is a quick 4 block walk to the hotels. (There are two hotels, a Residence Inn and a SpringHill Suites. Both are Brand New.)
I was able to check-in early (before noon) and was offered a few different floor options, which was a nice touch. I stayed on the 3rd floor, as another reviewer noted, the main lobby and social areas are on the 2nd floor. I had no problems with noise, and my room was brand new and very comfortable. The only issue I had was there was no remote control in my room, but a quick call to the front desk and I had a new remote.
I was in a a studio, didn't use the kitchen, but the full size fridge is a nice amenity, really like the workspace and strong internet connection. Also, the LCD TV was great, I was able to see it anywhere in the room, and the picture was clear. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom nice and clean. I really like the option of glass door showers instead of the tub, and the Speakman shower heads are great.
That evening I stopped by the complimentary BBQ; hot dogs, hamburgers, beef BBQ and even beer. The SpringHill Suites side of the hotel was hosting the Grand Opening party, with even more food and drink. The social areas had tons of sofas, flat screen TVs on the wall and fireplaces. The next morning I stopped by for the free breakfast, again top notch.
The gym on the top floor was well stocked with cardio equipment and some weights. Great views of the city as well.
Overall a great stay, convenient location to Michigan Ave and the Loop. The staff was very friendly, and the amenities are great. I would recommend this hotel.
