If there is a "typical bed and breakfast experience," this isn't it. To be sure, there was a bed, filling most of the well-planned (but somewhat small) Blue Room in which we stayed. There was a breakfast, too--a delicious and balanced mix of savory and exotic flavors. All areas were meticulously clean, and each had a different quirky appeal--artwork everywhere, and all of it clever and worth contemplating at some length; an oasis of urban greenery on the (thankfully, smoker-friendly) patio; a garage for our vehicle, away from the restricted-parking street; a lavish spa tub (didn't indulge except for the wholly satisfactory shower, but it was nice to have the option) with a glass-block-and-stained-glass "view"; and a shared mini-kitchen and living room for extra comfort and space. The urban neighborhood was close to everything, and next time we'll use the place as a hub to explore the area. Reading the in-room mini-guides to everything nearby made us wish our planning was less conventional, but a tourist in Chicago must experience the Millennium Park and the Art Institute (or so we thought when planning our single-day visit). This tourist is glad we were directed to the House of Two Urns, and glad for the future visits we will make there!
