Arrived here the night before conducting an all day seminar the next morning. The room was nice and clean and was very quiet. I walked around the hotel and checked out the inside water park. It was packed with people of all shapes and sizes. I'm not sure there was safe and adequate space and room in the water for all the people I saw, but they all seemed to be really having a great time. For this large hotel the options for eating were limited from what I could tell. At 6:00pm there was only one small restaurant open and the Starbucks closes at 3pm so that wasn't even an option. There is a hamburger and hotdog grill in the water park area, but that really didn't look very appealing to me (although I'm sure it was great for all the kids!). As I entered the water park area a woman staff member greeted me and asked me if I wanted a tour. That was nice although I declined; I just wanted to walk around for a minute or two. The lobby area was very busy and I was glad I had an upper floor room as I'm sure the lower floor rooms would have been less than calm and quiet.
I ordered my lunch to-go for 11:45 and several of the conference attendees ordered theirs from the menu in advance to eat in the restaurant. All of theirs were ready, but mine was no where to be found. I have however learned to keep my expectation rather low and then I'm not so disappointed. It took 15 precious minutes out of my lunch time to finally get my order which took 15 minutes away from much needed feet up and rest time in the middle of a energy expanding day of speaking.
This would no doubt be a great location for a combination of conference/family fun weekend especially during a cold dreary winter month. The water park looked fantastic!
