This hotel was lovely! We stayed for three nights on the 23rd floor in May. The weather was about 85 degrees so it was lovely to take a break from sightseeing to relax in the quiet pool in the afternoon whilst it was too hot outside! The view from our window was wonderful - got the Chicago skyline looking North with the John Hancock Centre. If you are on the other side you can see Sears Tower! The hotel bar has great skyline views too so you don't miss out if your room doesn't have them. Good access to The Loop and easy to get around from here as its only a 20 minute walk or so to Lake Michigan and Navy Pier.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza. Our room was fine and the view of the Chicago River the best. The hotel is atop the Mart Plaza, adjacent to the Merchandise Mart and the Brown Line train stop. Easy to get to anywhere via trains and a short cab ride to anything downtown or lake front. Excellent base camp for exploring the Loop, Lakefront, Museums, Architecture Tours.

I used to travel to Chicago on a regular basis. I stayed on Michigan Ave. and it was noisy all night long. This hotel has lobby on 15th floor so it is up from the hustle and bustle, river runs on side or front so there is not heavy traffic. Was close enough to Michigan ave. that could walk and was able to walk or take short cab ride to most locations downtown. Breakfeast buffet good but has gone up quite a bit. Always clean.

I stayed at this hotel this past weekend and it was a great location for me. On previous trips I have stayed right on Michigan Avenue and that gets to be a bit crazy with all the weekend tourist! This trip I wanted to spend more time on State Street and Rush Street and this location was perfect for me. I was in walking distance of everything (including Mich Ave) or a short cab ride away. The hotel itself was under going renovations, we had a nice new updated room. The bathrrom was very big with a nice shower. The room itself was specious with two double beds and a flat screen TV. The bed was comfortable, however I would have preferred a queen as opposed to the double. You enter the building at ground level and take the elevator up to the 15th floor. The lobby, bar and restaurant are located here. Check in was very easy, the staff was very friendly and nice. The bar had a nice view of the city and the drinks were delivered very promptly. I would stay here again, but request a king or two queens.
