Overall my stay was pleasant. The staff was very accommodating and customer service oriented. The location had a great neighborhood feel with tree lined streets and only three or four blocks from the beach. In addition, the hotel lobby and bar are beautiful. Unfortunately, the only thing dragging this hotel down is the old tired rooms. The hotel has been around for a while, so surely there has to be some equity in the property to renovate the rooms. As previous reviews have stated--many of the rooms are in desperate need of renovations. Here's a short description of the first room I was assigned on the 3rd floor: wore out and stained carpet greeted you upon opening the door, peeling wallpaper and paint, an old and tired bathroom with cracked and dirty tiles; positive--nice comfy beds, robes, and big room. I asked for another room and was given one on the 15th floor in better condition. For me, the condition of hotel rooms do matter ... no matter how little time I spend in the room. So for some people my comments may not matter to them. I booked this hotel on Hot wire and got a good price--$110 a night, so overall I say my stay was worth it due to location and the fact the staff was so accommodating in making sure we were satisfied. This hotel could be fabulous if the owners would invest in room renovations.
