The Talbott is a real nice boutique hotel right in the heart of the Gold Coast, one of the nicest neighborhoods in Chicago, and about 1.5 blocks from the Magnificent Mile. The lobby finishes and the staff were very friendly, and appeared to be accomidating. We didn't really need anything, but if we did, we could have asked anybody, and they would have helped us. The room well apointed, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and has a timed heater function, that can be used in the bitter Chicago winter mornings.
The location of the hotel is increadible. You are two blocks from the Red Line "L" train that runs all hours of the day. You are 2 blocks from The Bloomingdales building, John Hancock Building, Water Tower, and all the shops on Michigan Avenue. You are by great restaurants, shopping, and transportation.
This hotel is a good deal for the location and accomidations. I would definetly recommend this hotel; however, read the WARNING BELOW:
******WARNING********
There are 3 major constructions occuring to the west, and north of the building. Construction is at the early stages of this property, but in the coming year(s), major construction will occur, and it will be right next door to the hotel. We were on the 13th floor (lucky), but we heard very faint construction, Tuesday moring. My big suggestion, would be to get a high floor room, and by around next year at this time, be warned of major construction at this location.
