What a wonderful place. Steps to everything in Chicago. Bell men are friendly and helpful. Check in is quick and cheerful. The rooms are large and clean and fresh. Comfy beds. We travel with our daughter and usually stay for 6 or 7 nites (you get a better rate for longer stays). There is a laundry (great especially in the summer when you sweat through everything). Every one is most accomodating. Suite has a small kitchen with Mid sized fridge with freezer. A stove top and microwave and dishwasher and garbage disposal. It has a small dining room table with 2 chairs. Note, if traveling with kids, the suites bathroom can only be accessed by going through the main bedroom. Also the sink is seperate from the tub and shower and toilet Free buffet dinner with endless beer and wine (Mon. to Thurs. only) Food varies so check the fridge in your suite for a list of the meals they will be offering. It IS LITE, no steak here but there is always something to eat. There is a hot table as well, every nite there is a nice salad bar. The breakfast buffet again is all you can eat and of course along with dinner is included in the price. Here you'll find scrambled eggs, hot waffles with fresh syrup, bacon or sausage, roast pots. or biscuts and gravy and cereal. Lovely, hot fresh and plentiful. There is no room service of sorts in the hotel. A local Chinese restaurant (PFChangs) does the room service. Best to go out and a try some great neighbourhood restaurants Our picks: Weber's Grill, PFChangs, Rock Bottom are just a few. This hotel is great for families travelling with children. It has a good sized pool and around the corner is ESPN Zone and a pizza place. The kids will love this place you will too (you'll save a lot of money Mom and Dad!) The hotel rates might seem a little high in price but when you add up all you get...it's a bargain. Ask at the front desk directions to Osco Jewel, It's a LARGE grocery store with wine/alcohol/beer). This place has EVERYTHING and will save you A LOT OF MONEY.
Across the street from the hotel is Oprah's fav. store Nordstroms that connects to NorthBridge Mall. A shopper's haven. If you (and you must) go to Michigan Ave. Go to RL (Ralph Lauren) The big O has her "own" table there. I got to sit at it once...what a trip. I have been to Chicago 15 times over the years and this hotel is my fav. My family and I have stayed here at least 6 times and LOVED IT! You will too. I promise you will not be disappointed.
