My friends and I were celebrating a Bachelorette party downtown and all pitched in on a room at the Homewood Suites because of its great location and the price was reasonable as well. The suite was spacious. We had a nice sized kitchen (glasses, coffee mugs, silverware, plates, etc).
Late at night, we called down to room service for extra blankets and pillows. They brought them to our room within 5 minutes...that really impressed me. Also, the king size bed was very comfortable.

The overall pros:
-plenty of space
-comfortable bed with goose down pillows
-huge flat screen tv in the "living room" area
-well stocked kitchen area
-very clean
-room service was quick

The cons:
-remote for the tv in the bedroom didn't work
-electrical outlet next to vanity didn't work
-pull-out couch was uncomfortable to sleep on
-lcheck in is not on the first level of the hotel
-parking is pricey!

This is an excellent option for downtown Chicago.

Spacious suites, 2 TV's one a HD, huge double bed, decent kitchenette; All at a v reasonable price.

Staff are v friendly and the location just off the Mag Mile is ideal. Red Line subway (Grand) outside the hotel is perfect for White Sox stadium....

2 mins from a Jewel Osco supermarket and tons of bars and restaurants including the brilliant Pops for Champagne.

Highly recommened.

We stayed at the Homewood Suites for 3 nights in November 2007. (My partner & 10 month Son). This was a great place to stay with a family, the location was amazing and the service at the hotel was wonderful with some of the most friendly staff I have ever experienced.
We were blown away with the breakfasts available and the fact that you can pack your own take-away box and take food back to your room!
The hotel is directly opposite a chinese restaurant and an amazing pizza restaurant (great for the famous deep dish!) all which come in handy when dining out with young one's isn't your cup of tea!
When visiting Chicago again I would definitely stay here!

We just got home from our 4 day stay at the Homewood Suites. I have been to Chicago several times before, but this was my first time staying in the Homewood Suites. The homewood suites was nicer and more affordable than hotels I have stayed in previously.

My family and I were really impressed with the Homewood Suites. We had a 1 bedroom King suite. As mentioned before there was a full sized fridge and freezer, with a really fast ice maker, a dishwasher, and dishes including pots and pans. I really liked that there was door to shut the bedroom off from the living room.

The room was really clean, we were on the 18th floor which is a non-smoking floor, so there were not any musty, old smoky smells that you can sometimes get at hotels.

The free breakfast was great, much better than any other free breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. Hot scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, corned beef hash, fresh fruit in addition to typical cold breakfast options like bagels, donuts, muffins, cereal and yogurt. I have to say being able to start our day with a hot breakfast each day was great.

The staff was friendly, especially the doormen and valet parkers. We mentioned where we were going one day and they gave us directions to the closest place to get a CTA pass and then told us which bus we would need.

Overall our experience was great and we are planning on staying here again.
