When making my reservation, I made it for one of the most busiest weekends during the summer Memorial Day. The staff was able to get my family in at an affordable rate. The suites are very spacious, clean, cozy, and comfortable. Upon on arriving staff were friendly, willing to exceed expectations, and serve me with enthusiasm. The Hot Breakfast was delicious each morning. The beds are very comfortable and provided a good nights rest. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and anyone who need additional space when traveling and on a budget compared to other Chicago hotels.

My son and I just returned from a 3 day visit to Chicago to visit colleges. We chose the Homewood Suites because of the reviews on this site and also because we had a previous very pleasant stay at the Homewood Suites in Princeton, NJ. The Chicago Homewood Suites is a great place. Most importantly, every employee we encountered was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeble in regards to any questions we had about transportation, restaurants, hotel amenities, etc. (Jonah, a doorman, was especially thoughtful). Our room was spotless and quiet with internet access, plenty of space. The breakfast is excellent and is included in the very reasonable prices. The location is perfect for walking to the big "sights of the city" and also for accessing public transportation.
Overall, this quality hotel is a great value and we will definitely be checking out the Homewood Suites in other cities when we travel. GC from Palm Beach County, FL

Nice hotel. Friendly staff. Decent price for the room is you book early. The hotel's location is great, which I think is the major attraction here. Plenty of restaurants all around: Weber Grill Restaurant, OYSY (sushi), Joe's, Flemings (steak), a few blocks down on Rush is Giordano's. Nordstrom's is right across the street. Michigan avenue is a block or two east. The Red line for the El is just around the corner. The hotel itself isn't what I'd call 'incredible' (a few nicks and dings on the wall, some wallpaper starting to peel in the corner) but it's clean, the staff is friendly and accommodating, the "Welcome Home" is nice (M-F 5 pm - 7 pm), the free breakfast is great because it runs late enough for late sleepers and its a hot breakfast - not just cereal, fruit, and toast. Free WiFi in the rooms. Only negative here is the $42 valet parking. Plenty of parking garages around the hotel but they run roughly the same cost for overnight parking. I recommend this hotel, and if I visit Chicago again, I'm staying here.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Homewood Suites Downtown. The breakfast is good. It has eggs , sausage, biscuits, cereal etc. Then the managers reception was wine or beer, but they also had food that if you are on a budget could double as a meal. The rooms were good sized. It had a livingroom, kitchenette, and nice sized bedroom. I had a corner room that had a window in the living room and another in the bedroom. The kitchenette had a full sized refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave and a diswasher. The weight room is located on the 19th floor and what a view of Chicago. The windows are ceiling to floor and are an awesome sight while excercising. The had treadmills (2), eliptical and a bike. Additionally they had a good variety of freeweights. Great restaurants are located withing two blocks or less (ESPN Zone, The Weber Grill, Rock Bottom to name a few). Additionally the Miracle Mile is only about two nblocks away as well.

The thing that really endeared me to the hotel were the friendliness of the workers. It's apparent that a lot of people are returning customers because the workers were calling them by name and they'd see them again next week etc.
