This is a trendy, out-of-the ordinary hotel, decorated with bright colors and nice touches. The lobby is quite a showstopper with huge chairs decorated with large pillows. The room I had was on the 12th floor -- it was small but very comfortable. The large bed was spectacularly comfy, with a wonderful poofy comforter and plenty of good quality pillows. The hotel has free WiFi, and it worked very well. The coffee machine was one of the new Melita Pod types, and it produced a fine cup fairly easily. The bathroom was very nice with Aveda toiletries and plenty of good towels. In the renovation, the hotel replaced the bathtub with an extra large tiled shower equipped with a teak bench -- by far the nicest shower I've had in a hotel. So, why not five stars?? First, when I arrived my room was not ready yet. I was there at about 5pm and apparently they were counting on me not showing up until 6ish. I was able to sit and use the WiFi in the lobby, so my time wasn't spent unpleasantly, it just would have been better if my room was ready. Second, in trying to aim the shower head where the water needed to go, the holder broke. The desk told me that this was a problem and the manufacturer had given them replacements; unfortunately it slightly marred an otherwise fabulous shower experience.
