It's hard to beat the location of this hotel. It's right on MI ave. We got a great rate for the season and a cheap upgrade to a suite.
However, the service was pretty crappy. I don't think anyone smiled at us once while we were there.

Stayed there only one night in Nov - thank goodness, the room was so small, I wont rush back.

I stayed at the Allerton for Valentine's day weekend 09'. I must say it was a very nice hotel. Although small, staff was very friendly and accomodating. We originally booked a; I believe they refer to it as a "mini" room.. (dont quote me) but they upgraded us free of charge to a normal size king bedroom. The hotel is located in a GREAT location! Michigan Ave. Shoppers paradise. Nice restaurant, nice staff, nice room service. reasonable price for a short notice trip.. (booked with orbitz.com) Would stay here again, would reccomend.

My fiancee and I were looking so forward to this trip , but were sadly disappointed.
We were greeted with rotting food in the refrigerator. We called down to the front desk and they sent up a maintenance person, who cleaned out the refrigerator, and sprayed what appeared to be Febreze. No offer of a new room whatsoever. No apology. We settled in and realized there was no hairdryer.
Our problems seemed to be over until we were greeted at 3 a.m. with the smell of cigarette smoke in our bathroom and hotel room. Regardless if it was a smoking floor or not, we were not notified. Other guests on the floor clearly took "smoking floor" literally and two afternoons in a row, the smell of marijuana smoke poured into our room.
