We had a great long weekend at Chicago, visiting the sights and Taste of Chicago. We stayed at Ambassador East and found it a good location and wonderful hotel. Ambassador East is a 4 star but a notice about construction keeps it to an asterick in the AAA book. Travelzoo had a great rate and we booked. We saw no construction and heard none at the hotel. The staff was nice. Chicago's new Millenilum Park and Cloudgate is really cool. Lots of big name free music at the Taste. The visit to the Sears Tower was worth the price. The Lincoln Park zoo is free and really good.

Just came back from a weekend in Chicago. Stayed at the Omni Chicago (great location, great service). First time in Chicago. I loved the city. It was clean, beatiful architecturally and full of life. I was a little disappointed with Legends Blues Club but I absolutely loved Pops Champagne bar and the Jazz downstairs. Will go back again as I did not have enough time to see any of the museums.

Chicago has proven to be one of my most favorite places in the world. My husband and I visit there as often as we can. We love Navy Pier with an ecclectic mix of restaurants and shops. The stained glass exhibit there was fantastic and the Christmas Display is a sight to behold.

I thought Chicago was the most beautiful city I have ever been to! I highly recommend the following: Art Institute (long queues so go early), Sears Tower (great views on a clear day), Field Museum (so much to see you need a whole day), Adler Planetarium (zodiac shaped building with lots to do). Must do tours are the trolley tour (really funny and informative), Shoreline River tour (great on the architecture of Chicago), but - best of all - do the Untouchables Tour, to see were Al Capone hung out. I laughed so much I was crying.

My husband and i went to Chicago for our anniversary and were able to get a wonderful last minute deal through Priceline and stay at the 5 star Swissotel. It overlooks Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. The hotel was wonderful, staff was courteous. While on our trip we enjoyed the Chicago Trolley Tour-definitely worth the $25.00 per person. You can get on/off and see most of Chicago all day. We enjoyed the Sears Tower observatory tour-go early in the day to avoid crowds. The Navy Pier is a definite must while in Chicago!. You could spend the whole day there, especially if you have kids. Unfortunately many things outside at the Pier were not open in March due to the cold. Pizzaria Uno has the best deep dish Pizza. Warning-we ordered a medium and could only eat half! Millenium Park is definitely worth the walk-modern Art and be sure to check out the "Bean".Our long weekend in Chicago was fabulous and I recommend Chicago to anyone..The people everywhere were friendly and helpful and Chicago is such a pretty and clean city. Also, if you fly into O'Hare take the train into town. It is only $1.50 compared to $40.00 for a shuttle. The ride was about 45 minutes into the city.
